Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for adult outpatient populations with varying diagnoses.
- Implement, supervise, and modify therapy plans of care based on ongoing patient assessment to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, referring providers, and support staff to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, self-care techniques, and functional limitations related to their diagnosis or injury.
- Assist in the acquisition, fitting, and maintenance of durable medical equipment and clinical supplies.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, diagnoses, and progress in accordance with applicable regulatory and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska Physical Therapist license required at time of submission.
- Entry-level qualifying master's or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program; or graduate of an APTA-approved program at the master's or bachelor's level with 2 years of proven work and continuing education experience demonstrating doctoral-level knowledge.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Flu vaccination required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in adult outpatient rehabilitation.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience directing or overseeing Physical Therapist Assistants, support staff, students, or interns.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer billing procedures.
