Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting, serving a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric
• Participate in patient and family teaching, ensuring mutual goal setting and protection of patient rights and privacy
• Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel to maintain professional nursing standards in the clinical setting
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards as defined by the ANA Code for Nurses, the ANA Nursing's Social Policy Statement, and applicable State of Michigan public health codes
• Maintain compliance with regulatory agency standards including AOA, HCFA Conditions of Participation, and MIOSHA
• Demonstrate individual competence in nursing practice with responsible acceptance of individual actions and clinical judgments

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS or ENPC certification (ENPC accepted in place of PALS)
• Current TNCC certification
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with a broad patient population including newborn through geriatric patients
• Familiarity with Paragon electronic medical records (EMR) system
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 4:1 in a high-acuity emergency environment
