Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Silverdale, WA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required in November and December

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department managing approximately 170–200 patients per day across a 56-bed department with additional hall bed capacity
  • Manage a patient assignment at a 1:3 ratio (1:4 for low-acuity patients), including care for common diagnoses such as cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory distress, abdominal pain, and mental health presentations
  • Care for inpatient holds within the designated 18-bed holding area within the ED, managing patient status until bed placement is available
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, ED techs, and respiratory therapy staff to deliver coordinated patient care
  • Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation and patient management
  • Perform or coordinate nurse and ED tech blood draws, interpret telemetry strips, and coordinate with radiology and transport for diagnostic needs

Required Qualifications

  • Active Washington State RN license or valid Compact RN license
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department within a larger trauma setting
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Current TNCC certification
  • Current PALS or ENPC certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in a trauma center environment with high daily patient volumes
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment that includes a Fast Track area, separate triage, and a locked psychiatric treatment hall
