Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU

Location

Wilmington, NC

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor, interpret, and manage dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as indicated
Manage ventilated patients including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and interpretation of arterial blood gases
Perform and assist with specialized procedures including central line care, arterial line management, chest tube assistance, and invasive monitoring
Administer blood products, TPN/lipids, continuous IV sedation, and emergency and procedural sedation medications
Float to Med/Surg as needed; work a minimum of every other weekend with at least 6 weekend shifts per contract

Required Qualifications

Active RN license in NC or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; first-time travelers not accepted
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Proficiency with central line care, arterial lines, IV insulin protocols, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Experience managing patients with sepsis, DKA, COPD, and heart failure diagnoses
Familiarity with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR communication framework

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience in CVICU, Neuro ICU, or Surgical ICU settings
PICC line management and post-cardiac surgery care experience (not directly from OR)
Previous charge nurse experience and/or community hospital background
Experience with thermoregulation (hypothermia/hyperthermia protocols) and GI surgery patients
