Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients referred for physical therapy using specialized testing procedures, incorporating data from medical records and assessing strength, range of motion, coordination, sensation, ambulation, transfers, bed mobility, and rehabilitation potential
• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy plans of care directed toward short- and long-term goals based on evaluation findings
• Perform treatments as ordered in a safe and timely manner, involving staff and family members in treatment when indicated
• Supervise treatment team operations and meet regularly with PTAs to discuss patient progress and establish goals
• Maintain medical documentation in accordance with APTA standards of care and ensure strict confidentiality of patient records
• Assist in adjusting departmental schedules to accommodate changes in caseload and maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in the state of South Carolina
• Experience performing inpatient physical therapy evaluations and treatments
• Knowledge of and adherence to APTA standards of care and documentation requirements
• Ability to supervise PTAs and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an inpatient or acute care hospital setting
• Experience with program development and staff skill-building initiatives
