Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Cardiac Progressive Care)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Weekend rotation and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed private Cardiac Medical Progressive Care unit operating 24/7, with rooms remotely monitored by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department
- Manage cardiac patients presenting with conditions including Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, arrhythmias, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization, rule-out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement
- Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, peripheral and PICC line care, procedural sedation administration, and chest tube management (Emerson, Pleur-evac)
- Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; provide external CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy management
- Support secondary respiratory patients including those with COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP requirements
- Participate in a self-assisted scheduling system over 6-week scheduling periods, with assignments based on departmental need, patient work intensity, skill mix, and previous assignments
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac PCU / Progressive Care experience; must be comfortable with 1:4 ratios (drips/BiPAP) and 1:5 ratios
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed, required for all RNs regardless of specialty)
- No open background check cases permitted; active license must be verified prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred
