Registered Nurse – Observation

Location

Zanesville, OH

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 36 hours per week | Evening/Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on an Observation unit
  • Float to other Med-Surg units including Respiratory, Stroke, and Cardiac as needed
  • Float to the Emergency Department when appropriately skilled and knowledgeable
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry and BCRA readings
  • Document and manage patient information using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum 3 years of current and recent Telemetry and/or Med-Surg experience
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Telemetry/BCRA — competency will be assessed on day one
  • Current proficiency in Epic EMR — must be fully proficient prior to start; no refresher or on-site training will be provided
  • Active BLS certification required
  • Active ACLS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in an Observation or step-down unit setting
  • Familiarity with Emergency Department workflows and patient care
