Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location
Omaha, NE
Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (19:00–07:00) | 36 or 48 hour weekly options | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry units, including management of IV drips required on all floors
- Float within scope to various units as needed to meet facility staffing needs, which may include units focused on neuroscience, orthopedics, oncology, trauma, cardiac, stepdown/PCU, transplant, and observation
- Utilize EPIC electronic health records system for all clinical documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including CNAs, care techs, transport teams, paramedics/swoop, and LPNs where assigned
- Adhere to weekend requirements: 4 weekend shifts (Friday night and Saturday night) out of every 8 possible in a 4-week period
- Meet holiday coverage requirements, working 2 out of 3 designated major holiday periods
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or pending licensure (pending licenses must be in hand prior to start; booking will be scheduled six weeks out if not yet received)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
- Must be prepared to float frequently to various units across the health system, including a sister campus approximately 16 minutes from the main campus
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
- Background in specialty areas such as neuroscience, oncology, trauma, cardiac, or progressive/stepdown care
- ACLS certification
