Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float Pool)
Location
Newport News, VA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within a Medical Surgical / Telemetry float pool setting
- Float to various units based on facility needs
- Monitor and assess patients requiring telemetry and medical-surgical level care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license in hand at time of submittal, or valid compact license with proof provided
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- EPIC electronic health records experience required
- NIH Stroke Scale and stroke education required
- Minimum one supervisory reference required at time of submittal
- Specialty experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry within the last year required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working in a float pool environment across multiple units
- Familiarity with acute care hospital settings and associated protocols
