Key Responsibilities
- Provide Speech-Language Pathology evaluations and treatments in outpatient settings serving both adult and pediatric populations, with occasional inpatient, home health, and community-based services.
- Perform patient assessments, establish individualized plans of care, implement therapeutic interventions, and modify treatment plans based on ongoing patient response.
- Document patient encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, recommendations, and prognoses in accordance with hospital policies and applicable regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, attend care conferences, and communicate with referring providers, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals regarding patient status and needs.
- Develop and deliver patient and family education programs, including home exercise programs, with sensitivity to cross-cultural considerations.
- Participate in community outreach, health promotion initiatives, and occasional multi-day travel to remote locations, which may involve travel by boat or small aircraft.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required.
- Active Alaska state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology — must be held at time of submittal.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience in outpatient and pediatric settings required.
- Flu vaccine required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in inpatient, home health, or long-term care settings in addition to outpatient rehabilitation.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing procedures relevant to SLP services.
- Experience providing services in rural, remote, or culturally diverse healthcare environments.
