Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to inpatient adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions, including sepsis, MI, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease
• Administer and monitor vasoactive drug infusions, IV antiarrhythmic therapy, thrombolytic therapy, and anticoagulation
• Perform and interpret cardiac telemetry monitoring, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring
• Assist with or support procedures including defibrillation, cardioversion, and thoracentesis
• Float to like units or other facilities as needed based on census demands, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies
• Complete required pre-assignment modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac stepdown or similar unit
• Willingness and ability to float to other units or campuses as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience in cardiac stepdown or progressive care nursing
• Experience with vasoactive infusions, antiarrhythmic therapy, and cardiac telemetry in an inpatient setting
• First-time travelers with strong relevant clinical experience will be considered
