RN – Intensive Care Unit (Cardiovascular / CVICU)

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments incorporating physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and synthesize findings to develop and update individualized plans of care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient outcomes, communicate relevant clinical information, and promote continuity of care.
  • Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of patient care.
  • Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care issues and high-risk discharge planning.
  • Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe and secure hospital environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent CSICU or CVICU nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC.
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning.
