Travel RN – Cardiac Med Intermediate (Stepdown) – Nights
Location
Saint Louis, MO
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 16-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups on a 32-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit
- Monitor and manage patients including post-op CABG/Valve, Thoracotomies, Respiratory Failure, and Chest Pain presentations
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment including chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary and interdisciplinary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
- Float as needed to similar or lower acuity units and participate in every-other-weekend scheduling as required by the facility
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license; must be eligible for or currently hold licensure in the state of Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Cardiac Stepdown experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Flu vaccination required (November 1 – April 1); approved exemptions accepted, declinations are not
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAP management
