Job Title
Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location
Madison, WI
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Monday – Friday with weekend rotation and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Neurological Medical Surgical / Telemetry inpatient setting
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias and heart blocks
- Document patient assessments, care plans, and interventions accurately using Epic EMR
- Float to other units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute care experience in Neuro Medical Surgical / Telemetry within the last 3 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Must pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with 100% identification of lethal rhythms)
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
- Familiarity with cardiac interpretation and telemetry monitoring in both adult and pediatric populations
