Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
Location
Charlottesville, VA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Mids (11:00–23:00) | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Weekends Required | Every Other Holiday | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting, including assessment, triage, and treatment of patients across the acuity spectrum
- Deliver care to both adult and pediatric patients in alignment with department protocols and scope of practice
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure positive outcomes
- Float within scope of practice to support staffing needs across applicable units as required
- Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia or Virginia license in process (must be in hand prior to start date)
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of Level 1 Trauma Center experience, or at least 2 years of Level 2 Trauma Center experience, including some pediatric experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC pending accepted at submission but must be obtained before start date)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN degree preferred
- Experience working in a high-volume or academic medical center emergency department
- Demonstrated experience managing both adult and pediatric emergency cases
