Registered Nurse – Telemetry / Heart & Vascular Unit

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | 13 or 26-week contract options | 36 or 48-hour weekly options available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed specialty Heart & Vascular unit serving cardiovascular, heart and lung transplant, and Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) patients
- Manage cardiac drips and monitor telemetry for a patient population requiring advanced cardiovascular nursing expertise
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs as assigned
- Float within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units and campuses as required
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health records
- Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and 2 of 3 major winter holidays
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (or pending Nebraska RN state license; pending licenses will be booked six weeks out from submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Demonstrated experience managing IV drips
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
- Prior experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (required for first-time travelers to be considered)
