Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location
Omaha, NE
Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hour weekly options | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical surgical, telemetry, and progressive care to adult pre- and post-transplant patients (liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal) as well as intestinal rehabilitation patients on a 36-bed unit
- Administer and monitor IV drips, which are required on all floors
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice to various units across the facility and potentially to an additional campus to meet staffing needs
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics/swoop, and LPNs (where assigned)
- Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including working 4 out of 8 possible weekend shifts per 4-week period and 2 out of 3 major holidays
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or pending Nebraska RN state license (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency with EPIC charting
- Ability and willingness to float frequently to various units to meet facility staffing needs
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
- Prior experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (required for first-time travelers to be considered)
