Job Title
Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU
Location
Bowling Green, KY
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Neuro ICU setting with the ability to float to stepdown at a 1:4 ratio
- Perform and document stroke signs and symptoms assessments using established tools such as BE-FAST
- Administer IV-tPA and conduct post-tPA monitoring in accordance with current stroke guidelines
- Complete bedside dysphagia screenings and maintain competency documentation
- Apply knowledge of current guidelines and performance measures for Acute Ischemic and Hemorrhagic strokes
Required Qualifications
- Valid Kentucky RN license or active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum of 9 months of travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only accepted)
- Current NIHSS certification (certificate on file, obtained within 2 years of start date)
- Stroke signs/symptoms competency and bedside dysphagia screening competency on file
- Requested Time Off (RTO) must be included at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a certified stroke center critical care unit
- Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) highly preferred
- Familiarity with IV-tPA administration and post-tPA monitoring protocols
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
