Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
Location
Winston-Salem, NC
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Onsite | 26-Week Contract | 36 Hours per Week | 12-Hour Night Shifts (18:45–07:15, 3x12)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department serving a regional referral and tertiary care patient population across all age groups
- Perform triage, IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and other core emergency nursing functions
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting using EPIC and communicate effectively using SBAR methodology
- Participate in daily shift huddles and adhere to unit workflows utilizing Pyxis for medication management
- Float between the Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on unit need
- Meet weekend requirements of a minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week scheduling period
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact nursing license
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Proficiency in IV starts, triage, and telemetry
- Current ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and MOAB certifications
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Willingness to float to Emergency Observation and Emergency Behavioral Health units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
