Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
Location
Rockford, IL (with assignment to Freeport, IL location)
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Evening/Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in the care of Emergency Department patients
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and State practice acts
- Perform patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; develop and execute individualized patient plans of care
- Document patient care activities according to established standards of care
- Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
- Participate in department performance improvement activities, unit practice decisions, and peer review processes
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required at time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- TNCC or TNS certification required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required
- Prior experience working in an Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma Center
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating between multiple emergency department locations
- Demonstrated participation in shared governance or unit-based practice councils
