Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical
Location
Hilo, HI
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift | 36 hours per week | 13-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 77-bed Medical Unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8 on nights
- Operate and manage equipment including Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- Work various shift lengths and days as required; flexibility is essential
- Float to other units as needed, including a cardiovascular unit and a general medical unit
- Adhere to professional nursing attire and facility dress code standards
- Complete unit-specific orientation and training program prior to independent practice
Required Qualifications
- Active State of Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Proof of flu vaccination or facility-approved medical/religious exception prior to contract start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Up to 10 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Prior experience with Meditech EMR systems
- Experience managing chest tubes and wound vac therapy
