Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans and goals in alignment with physician direction and targeted discharge timelines.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address barriers to discharge, including equipment trialing and ordering, patient and family training, home exercise program issuance, and coordination of continuing services.
- Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions effectively, demonstrating flexibility in caseload management and ensuring continuity of the plan of care throughout the patient's length of stay.
- Complete accurate and timely medical record documentation including daily notes, goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry in compliance with applicable state, federal, and payer guidelines.
- Participate in student clinical education programs as assigned, providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
- Adhere to the applicable State Practice Act and all regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and fulfilling continuing education obligations.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist licensure in the state of Florida.
- Demonstrated competency in performing comprehensive patient evaluations and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
- Ability to complete thorough and compliant medical record documentation in accordance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and ethical standards.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in an inpatient rehabilitation or acute care hospital setting.
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary team collaboration and discharge planning processes.
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring clinical students.
