Registered Nurse – Oncology

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Coverage Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to a hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), and gynecologic and surgical oncology population
- Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with float responsibilities as assigned
- Operate and monitor Alaris IV pumps (Epic-integrated), barcode medication administration systems, SCD machines, and Alaris feeding pumps
- Support bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies within a 7-bed positive pressure wing for BMT and acute leukemia patients
- Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
- Participate in emergency response team duties as directed by unit management in the event of an emergency event
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
- Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology specialty
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as verified by address on driver's license)
- NURSYS report required and must be current within 4 weeks of submission date
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification
- Experience with BMT, acute leukemia, or gynecologic and surgical oncology patient populations
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
