Registered Nurse – Oncology

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Coverage Required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to a hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), and gynecologic and surgical oncology population
  • Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with float responsibilities as assigned
  • Operate and monitor Alaris IV pumps (Epic-integrated), barcode medication administration systems, SCD machines, and Alaris feeding pumps
  • Support bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies within a 7-bed positive pressure wing for BMT and acute leukemia patients
  • Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
  • Participate in emergency response team duties as directed by unit management in the event of an emergency event

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology specialty
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR
  • Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as verified by address on driver's license)
  • NURSYS report required and must be current within 4 weeks of submission date

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification
  • Experience with BMT, acute leukemia, or gynecologic and surgical oncology patient populations
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
