Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Omaha, NE

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM / 6:30 PM–7:00 AM | Every other weekend required | Every third holiday required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Progressive Care/Step-Down unit serving adult and geriatric populations with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring needs
  • Titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications per physician orders and unit protocols
  • Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:4–5, applying critical thinking and strong clinical judgment to prioritize care
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
  • Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab units as needed
  • Complete unit-specific orientation including onboarding week and 1–2 days of floor orientation; pass required open-book competency exam with a minimum score of 90%

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current NIHSS certification
  • Valid driver's license (required at time of submittal)
  • Artificial nails are prohibited; compliance with facility fingernail policy is required

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience in a PCU, Step-Down, or IMC setting
  • Experience titrating cardiac and neurological drips
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a collaborative, positive attitude
