Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care outcomes.
• Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care appropriate to the patient population.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, revise plans of care, and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families, consulting appropriate resources in a timely manner for complex care issues and high-risk discharge planning.
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment.
• Engage in professional development by identifying personal learning needs, attending education programs, and reviewing applicable nursing research and literature.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a progressive care, intermediate care, or stepdown unit setting.
