Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
Location
York, PA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Weekends and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, 74-bed Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence
- Deliver nursing care across a 3-bed trauma bay and a secure behavioral health unit as needed
- Float as needed to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), a 22-bed unit with full telemetry capability, including negative pressure rooms
- Continue nursing interventions and procedures for patients transferred from the main ED to the ETCU pending disposition, consultation, or inpatient placement
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including the potential care of COVID-positive patients
- Complete required onboarding modules prior to start date
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with no license hits (hard stop)
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
- Prior travel nursing experience required – first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Ability to work every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system strongly preferred
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and negative pressure room protocols
- Experience in or willingness to cross-train to an Emergency Transitional Care Unit setting
