Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Days)

Schedule / Job Type

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit in an inpatient hospital setting
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
Monitor and document patient progress, changes in condition, and response to treatment
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, quality patient outcomes
Adhere to all facility policies, Joint Commission standards, and state regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be valid and in good standing
Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
All required certifications must be obtained and verified prior to start date
Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel placement
Must comply with New Mexico State fingerprinting requirement (LPNT): all clinical staff must be fingerprinted before hire and provide documentation that the check is being processed; travelers may begin on a 14-day waiver with supervision while awaiting results
Orientation takes place on Mondays

Preferred Experience / Skills

Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical setting
Familiarity with Joint Commission accreditation standards and stroke or chest pain center protocols
