Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Stepdown/PCU unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–6 depending on acuity
• Monitor and manage cardiac patients including those post-cath lab, post-pneumonia, seizure patients, and patients on CIWA protocols
• Titrate and manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Angiomax
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips; print strips, perform measurements, and identify rhythms in coordination with available monitor technicians
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment (BiPAP, Airvo, trachs) in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy staff assigned to the unit
• Float to other inpatient units as needed; travelers are first priority for floating assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown or PCU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated comfort with cardiac monitoring and management of cardiac drips
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry independently
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required — copy must be submitted with application

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing patients on CIWA protocols and those with pacemakers
• Familiarity with titrating a broad range of vasoactive and cardiac drips in a stepdown or intermediate care setting
• Prior experience working alongside monitor technicians and respiratory therapy teams in a collaborative unit environment
