Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours Weekly Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend and Some Holidays Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a 21-bed Emergency Department, including telemetry, behavioral health, and fast track areas
• Manage patients presenting with conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
• Administer IV therapy, IV drips, blood products, and oxygen demand support
• Perform and interpret basic telemetry and EKG monitoring
• Participate in resuscitation efforts and trauma response as needed
• Float to other units as needed and maintain a 1:5 patient ratio in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• Active RN licensure
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
• Proficiency with Cerner EHR
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as a travel placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in emergency medicine within a hospital setting
• Psychiatric or behavioral health emergency experience is a plus
