Registered Nurse – NICU

Location

Lafayette, LA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a NICU setting with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio and an average daily census of 30
  • Float to Mother Baby and Pediatrics units as needed
  • Accurately document patient care and clinical information using Epic EMR
  • Participate in weekend coverage on a rotating every-other-weekend schedule
  • Respond to and support facility emergency events as directed by unit management, which may include remaining on-site until the event concludes or serving on a relief team

Required Qualifications

  • Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
  • BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA certifications required)
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required for previous travelers; minimum 3 years of NICU experience required for first-time travelers
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • NURSYS report must be current (within 4 weeks of submission date)
  • Candidate must not have worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractor at this health system within the past year

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
  • Familiarity with NICU patient diagnoses and procedures in a high-census environment
