Travel RN – Cardiac Telemetry (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Full-Time Hours | Projected Start: September 21, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips, and monitor patients on continuous telemetry
- Administer and titrate IV medications including insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
- Perform and assist with unit procedures including IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, Foley insertions, and temporary pacemaker management
- Provide post-cardiac procedural care for patients following ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post-Op Day 1 open heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
- Document patient care using Meditech and communicate with the care team using Imobile; participate in bedside shift report and uphold patient experience standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU
- Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
- Experience with post-cardiac procedural care and IV medication titration
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must be available to work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period; subject to float to areas of demonstrated competency
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Experience with equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, temporary pacemakers, wound vacs, bladder scanners, and telemetry monitors
- Prior travel nursing experience in a fast-paced cardiac environment
