Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Ortho (4 West)
Location
Birmingham, Alabama
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | Days (0645–1915) | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | 13-Week Assignment | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Med/Surg Orthopedics/Post-Op unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Manage care for surgical and post-operative patients in a fast-paced environment
- Participate in bedside shift report at the start of each shift
- Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate and timely documentation
- Float to other units as needed per facility requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong time management skills, positive attitude, and reliable attendance
- Ability to work every other weekend
- Must comply with facility dress code: navy scrubs; artificial nails of any kind are not permitted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in Med/Surg, orthopedics, or post-operative care
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR
- Quick critical thinking skills and confidence in a high-acuity, fast-paced unit environment
