Registered Nurse – Oncology (Travel)
Location
Birmingham, Alabama
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | 13-Week Assignment | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 7th floor oncology unit serving oncology, palliative, post-operative bariatric, and med/surg overflow patients
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer treatments, and document care accurately using Epic EMR
- Operate standard medical equipment including IV pumps, vital sign machines, and other unit-based tools
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 6:1 in an 18-bed unit setting
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Current NIHSS certification (American Heart Association)
- Demonstrated Med/Surg experience
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Acute care experience in an inpatient hospital setting
- Experience caring for oncology or palliative care patient populations
- Familiarity with post-operative bariatric patient care
