Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU / Critical Care
Location
Prescott, AZ
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a multi-unit Critical Care service line encompassing CVICU, COVID ICU, Medical-Surgical ICU, and PCU, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 in ICU and 1:3–4 in PCU
- Manage complex critical care diagnoses including sepsis, DKA, ARF, post-MI, STEMI, rhabdomyolysis, low-level neuro, and post-surgical patients including open heart cases for qualified nurses
- Titrate critical care drips including vasopressors (levophed, dopamine), paralytics, sedation (propofol), anti-arrhythmics, heparin, and argatroban
- Independently read and interpret EKG/telemetry strips using bedside and nursing station monitors; interpret ABGs
- Troubleshoot and assist with weaning of ventilators; work with respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and Vapotherm
- Participate in float rotation to PCU and other critical care areas as needed; respond to rapid response and code blue events as directed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum ICU-level experience with demonstrated proficiency across critical care skills including arterial lines, chest tubes, EVD, and SWAN catheter management
- Strong EKG interpretation and ventilator weaning/troubleshooting skills
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract start
- Must meet radius and employment eligibility requirements as defined by the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with IABP and Prismaflex CRRT
- Familiarity with Impella, TAVR, VAD devices, and cardiac surgical patient care
- Experience with manual proning and open heart surgery post-operative care
- Familiarity with Glidescope use during intubation and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitoring systems
