Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 or 48 hours per week guarantee available | Every other weekend required | No on-call requirement | No floating requirement
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned ICU patients in a mixed cardiac and medical critical care unit
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting
- Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) and Impella devices
- Experience with post-operative cardiovascular surgeries and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Prior experience managing patients with DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator management in a mixed cardiac/medical ICU environment
