Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 or 48 hours per week guarantee available | Every other weekend required | No on-call requirement | No floating requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned ICU patients in a mixed cardiac and medical critical care unit
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) and Impella devices
• Experience with post-operative cardiovascular surgeries and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Prior experience managing patients with DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator management in a mixed cardiac/medical ICU environment
