Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

Garden City, KS (Float Zone covering up to 60-mile radius)

Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Onsite | Float Pool Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a Medical Surgical and Telemetry float pool, covering units including General MS-Tele, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
• Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology post-surgical, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
• Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients requiring RT equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
• Float across multiple facilities within a designated 60-mile zone, with facility assignments communicated via schedule or just-in-time notification 1–2 hours before shift start
• Maintain flexibility to float into varying acuity levels including ICU (low-acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele as needed
• Adhere to weekend rotation requirements of 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule and participate in holiday rotation as requested

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Kansas (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience within the last 3 years
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 based on acuity
• Must be available for in-state orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Must be able to obtain housing within a feasible distance to support floating throughout the full 60-mile zone

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a neuro nursing environment
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pump systems
• Experience working within the EPIC electronic health record system
