Registered Nurse – ICU (Cardiac Intensive Care)

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to cardiac and medical intensive care patients, including management of advanced cardiac devices such as LVAD, Impella, and IABP
- Monitor and manage patients on ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and respond to changes in patient cardiac status
- Care for pre- and post-cardiac catheterization and intervention patients, including sheath removal
- Support post-cardiac surgery patients (not directly from the OR) and step-down overflow as needed
- Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio in a high-acuity ICU environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac ICU setting (CCU, CVICU, or Cardiopulmonary ICU strongly required)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Demonstrated competency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience with EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Hands-on experience with advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, LVAD, and temporary ventricular pacing (TVP)
- Experience with CRRT and management of invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- Background in pre- and post-cardiac surgery patient care
