Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct and individualized nursing care to a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients, based on scientific nursing principles
Consult and coordinate with the health care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications via oral, subcutaneous, and IV routes; report adverse reactions in accordance with facility policy
Monitor and adjust specialized patient care equipment; interpret and record electronic displays, and initiate corrective action when adverse symptomatology is observed
Initiate and implement patient education plans as prescribed, including post-treatment home care instructions for patients and their support persons
Perform bedside care duties including dressing changes, catheter insertion, IV starts, and participation in discharge planning; document all care accurately and in a timely manner

Required Qualifications

Active Wyoming RN license or a multi-state RN license (must be provided at time of submission)
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Medical Surgical nursing
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (must be provided at time of submission)

Preferred Experience / Skills

Prior travel nursing experience
Previous experience working in a community hospital setting, either in a permanent or contract capacity
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
