Float Pool Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Contract | Nights | Every Other Weekend | 36 or 48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Float between up to 8 different Medical/Surgical Telemetry units throughout the facility, including ED border patient care, acute mental health medication nurse duties, and care for non-vented ICU transfer-ready patients
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours
• Manage and administer cardiac drips in accordance with unit protocols
• Perform TR Band procedures as required
• Provide direct patient care across units ranging from 8 to 41 beds, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of up to 6:1 on nights
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single facility
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a travel nurse
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including strip interpretation and interval measurement
• Ability and willingness to float to 8 different units as assigned

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience specifically in cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and telemetry strip reading
• Prior experience with TR Band procedures
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
