Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients in a high-volume unit averaging 2,000 deliveries annually
  • Manage care across low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) patient populations, including certified nurse midwife cases
  • Utilize fetal monitoring skills and respond appropriately to changes in maternal and fetal status
  • Cross-train to Mother/Baby unit as required; may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) within scope of practice
  • Work within a unit featuring 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
  • Document and manage patient care using Epic electronic health records

Required Qualifications

  • Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
  • BLS certification required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
  • Fetal Monitoring certification required
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
  • Epic experience required
  • Nursys verification required at time of submission
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • BSN preferred
  • Experience with both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patient populations
  • Prior experience in Mother/Baby or NICU settings
