Travel Registered Nurse – PCU / Stepdown (Nights)

Denton, TX | Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed Progressive Care Unit with a standard ratio of 4:1, flexing to 5:1 as needed
• Manage stroke patients, patients on cardiac drips, and those requiring continuous BiPAP support
• Care for post-procedure patients and monitor patients via telemetry and bedside monitoring equipment
• Assist with or support emergent thoracentesis procedures as indicated
• Utilize BiPAP, AirVO, restraints, and seizure precaution protocols in accordance with unit guidelines
• Document and manage patient care using the Meditech EMR system

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas (or compact license eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU, Stepdown, or IMC nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous preceptor experience in a PCU or similar acute care setting
• Charge nurse experience
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
