Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity ICU nursing care with a 1:2 patient ratio in a surgical intensive care unit setting
• Deliver post-operative care for surgical recovery patients, including general SICU cases and transplant recovery (liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas)
• Perform and monitor care involving PA catheters, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and post-op CABG and valve repair/replacement patients
• Manage patients requiring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Float to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs) as needed per unit requirements
• Participate in emergency response team duties as assigned by unit manager during declared emergency events

Required Qualifications

• Active Compact or Louisiana RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of experience in SICU or equivalent specialty
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale Certification
• AHA-issued certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• NURSYS report required with profile submission (must be current within 4 weeks of submission date)
• Must live more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from address on driver's license to facility address) — local travelers are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with PA catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP)
• Background in CVICU care, including post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, and aortic dissection management
• Experience with transplant recovery nursing (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas)
• Familiarity with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
