Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Weekends Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a combined 30-bed unit encompassing 22 Acute Care beds and 8 Neuro Stepdown beds, maintaining appropriate patient ratios (6:1 Acute Care, 4:1 Neuro Stepdown)
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Vapotherm, BiPAP, tracheostomies, titrating cardiac drips, high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various IV drips
- Assist with and support procedures commonly performed on the unit, including lumbar punctures and chest tube placement
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Participate in bedside shift report, daily huddle, and personal connection initiatives to support patient experience standards
- Float to other units as needed following orientation, in accordance with facility floating policy; ACLS and BLS certification required for Neuro Stepdown assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care or stepdown setting
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required for Neuro Stepdown
- Strong acute care nursing skills and demonstrated time management abilities
- Availability to work weekend shifts as required by scheduling needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior stepdown or progressive care unit (PCU/IMC) experience strongly preferred for the Neuro Stepdown role
- Experience with stroke care protocols and neurological patient populations
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records system
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage complex, high-acuity patients
