Contract | Rotating Day/Night Shifts | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30 / 19:00–7:30) | Every Other Weekend Rotation | Holidays as Needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving an adult and geriatric population under a Family Medicine service with a variety of conditions and diagnoses
• Care for patients within a secured unit environment, including those from Department of Corrections facilities, always accompanied by a corrections officer while assisting these patients
• Perform IV insertions and manage peripheral IV access as a routine component of patient care
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias; must pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic health records system

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in Medical Surgical/Telemetry
• Demonstrated experience starting IVs required
• EPIC electronic health records experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry competency exam (adult and pediatric components) prior to start; passing score of 80% or higher with 100% identification of lethal rhythms required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for geriatric patient populations
• Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Experience working in a secured or specialty unit environment
