Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 36 or 48 hours per week (must be indicated at time of submission) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for post-operative, trauma, and high-acuity medical patients
• Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac drips, BiPAP, and other advanced interventions in a stepdown environment
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and patient comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care providers
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
• Float to departments of equal or lower acuity as needed based on unit staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in Missouri or hold an active Missouri RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) — required
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) — required
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown or ICU experience
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1 (declinations are not accepted)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with post-operative care including high-acuity surgical patients
• Familiarity with cardiac drip management and BiPAP monitoring
• Experience caring for trauma patients and patients with complex medical comorbidities
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and team-oriented approach to patient care
