Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Float Pool

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Evenings & Every Other Weekend | 36 or 48 hours per week | Day/Evening rotation with 1–3 night rotations per contract

Key Responsibilities

• Float between up to 8 different Medical/Surgical Telemetry units throughout the hospital
• Perform telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours
• Manage cardiac drips and provide cardiac monitoring for assigned patients
• Care for ED border patients, serve as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and provide care for non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
• Maintain a patient ratio of up to 5:1 on days and evenings, and up to 6:1 on nights
• Document and chart using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a travel nurse
• Willingness and ability to float to 8 different units within the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 years of experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and reading tele strips
• TR Band experience
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
