Job Title
Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Surgical Unit (Night Shift)

Cape Girardeau, MO | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 weeks, up to 26 weeks upon request) | Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 hours per week guaranteed | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical patients including urology, orthopedic, general surgery, and medical overflow populations
- Develop nursing diagnoses, establish care objectives, and define individualized nursing interventions
- Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills
- Monitor and respond to changing patient conditions, re-evaluating care objectives as needed; willingness to take on charge nurse responsibilities is required
- Float as needed within Med-Surg and Progressive care areas per unit guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid for practice in Missouri
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Medical-Surgical or post-surgical nursing role
- Post-surgical experience required (post-recovery, not OR-based)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Flu vaccination required for assignments running November 1 through April 1 (exemptions must be client-approved)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with peri-dialysis patients
- Familiarity with IV pumps and customary surgical unit equipment
- Strong team-player mentality with excellent communication skills
