Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Progressive Care Unit with a 1:4–1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio on days, utilizing equipment such as BiPAPs, high-flow O2, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and wound vacs
• Manage and monitor cardiac drips, heparin drips, and insulin drips with critical thinking and sound clinical judgment
• Perform and assist with unit procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting
• Conduct hourly rounding on day shift and maintain AIDET communication standards, including upkeep of patient communication boards
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed per unit floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Tennessee (or compact license eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or progressive care nursing experience
• Demonstrated experience with EKG rhythm interpretation and cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip management
• Experience with BiPAPs, high-flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Peritoneal dialysis experience
• Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tube management
• Proficiency with peripheral IV insertion
