Job Title

Travel RN – Neuro Stepdown (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | Travel | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | Weekends Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined Acute Care and Neuro Stepdown unit with a 30-bed capacity (22 Acute Care, 8 Stepdown)
• Manage patient ratios of 6:1 on the Acute Care side and 4:1 on the Neuro Stepdown side
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Vapotherm, BiPAP, trachs, titrating cardiac drips, high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, and suction
• Assist with and support common unit procedures including lumbar punctures and chest tube placement
• Complete documentation accurately using the Meditech electronic health record system
• Participate in bedside shift report, daily huddles, and maintain personal connection standards for patient experience

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an applicable care setting
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required (for Neuro Stepdown assignment)
• Strong acute care nursing skills with demonstrated time management abilities
• Stepdown experience required for the Neuro Stepdown assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with stroke protocols and neuro patient populations
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Strong critical thinking skills in a fast-paced stepdown or progressive care environment
• Experience floating within a hospital setting
