Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week (48-Hour Contracts Available Upon Request)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 45-bed Medical-Surgical unit managing a diverse patient population including gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, hip/knee replacements, ORIFs, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, and respiratory conditions
• Perform PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEG/NG tube care, ostomy care, remote telemetry monitoring, and blood product administration
• Conduct NIHSS assessments and dysphagia screenings; demonstrate strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Float within skillset as first to float, including potential cross-campus float assignments with a minimum 2-hour notice provided for cross-campus floats
• Document and chart using Epic EMR (checkoff class required upon start)
• May be required to precept students and new hires in this teaching environment

Required Qualifications

• Active, current Compact RN License
• AHA BLS Certification (must be current and attached at time of submittal)
• NIHSS Certification (must be current and attached at time of submittal)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, strong Medical-Surgical experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with drip management including heparin and cardizem
• Proficiency in remote telemetry monitoring
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, work in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with an experienced unit team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well within a team-oriented unit culture
